Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Assist patients with dialysis treatment, including setting up and operating hemodialysis machines, and monitoring patients' vital signs and treatment parameters.
  • Education and Training: Provide patient education on dialysis treatment, including online clearance monitoring, adequacy monitoring, and disease process/access.
  • Treatment Administration: Administer heparin as delegated or as allowed by state law, and perform vascular access cannulation.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately document patient treatment information, including vital signs, treatment parameters, and any interventions or issues that arise during treatment.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and effective treatment outcomes.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. required; must meet Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline.
  • Experience: Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
