Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of procurement experience, preferably in the healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Support: Provide hands-on supervision and guidance, directing team members to meet customer service and departmental goals across the organization.

Inventory Management: Oversee the ordering, receipt, and distribution of clinical and non-clinical supplies, equipment, and instruments.

Proactive Purchasing: Implement and manage all inventory and procurement systems effectively.

Collaboration: Work with various departments to anticipate material requirements and assist in the purchasing cycle through billing and collection.

Monitoring: Track PAR levels and manage inventory efficiently.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders to assess equipment needs and resolve issues within the assigned function.

Order Management: Process purchase requisitions, change orders, and requests for quotes while communicating with relevant departments to address any emerging problems.

Material Shortage Mitigation: Engage directly with production resources and suppliers to prevent material shortages and delays.

Coordination: Align purchasing activities with departments to ensure timely and cost-effective inventory acquisition.

Accounting Interface: Work with Accounting to resolve discrepancies related to materials.

Record Maintenance: Keep accurate records of goods ordered and received.

Market Analysis: Evaluate market and delivery systems to forecast material availability.

Expertise Development: Strive to become proficient in all purchasing systems.

Equipment Oversight: Manage biomedical equipment maintenance and repairs through third-party vendors or contractors.

Safety Compliance: Maintain Safety Data Sheets and perform other assigned duties as needed.

Physical and Mental Demands

This role requires a combination of sitting and standing typical of a standard office environment, along with some bending and stretching. Candidates must possess manual dexterity for using a calculator and computer keyboard, and be capable of lifting or moving at least 50 pounds. Additionally, work may involve pushing or pulling approximately 100 lbs using a cart.
