We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Health Director to join our team at Tippecanoe County Government. As a key member of our health department, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of public health programs and services that promote the health and well-being of our community.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership and direction to the health department, including supervising staff and managing budgets.
- Program Development and Implementation: Develop and implement public health programs and services that address the health needs of our community, including disease prevention and control, health education, and environmental health.
- Collaboration and Partnerships: Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to advance public health goals and objectives.
- Policy Development and Advocacy: Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote public health, and advocate for policies and programs that support the health and well-being of our community.
- Communication and Education: Develop and implement communication and education strategies to promote public health awareness and education, including media relations, community outreach, and health education programs.
- Education: Master's degree in public health, healthcare administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in public health administration, including experience in program development and implementation, staff supervision, and budget management.
- Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The Public Health Director will work in a standard office environment, with occasional travel to community meetings and events. The position requires the ability to work effectively in a team environment, and to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
