Position Summary:
The Catering Sales Manager, also referred to as the Special Events Sales Manager, plays a pivotal role in promoting and securing private event bookings, including special occasions and banquets. This position also assists the Director of Catering Sales with various responsibilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve or surpass budgeted booking targets and revenue across all special event categories.
- Engage with a diverse range of market segments.
- Excel in a dynamic, high-volume sales environment.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships to encourage repeat business.
- Participate actively in industry-related organizations.
- Employ various sales strategies, including effective closing and negotiation techniques.
- Conduct site visits and present to clients.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years in Catering Sales or Event Sales is required.
- Experience in a similar-sized venue with comparable sales volume is essential.
- A high school diploma is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of venue features, benefits, and competitive offerings in the market.
- Ability to prioritize, plan, organize, and delegate effectively.
- Strong written communication skills, ensuring clarity and organization.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Capability to perform effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
- Adaptability in communication style to engage various audiences.
- A positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Skills:
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
- Proven track record in prospecting and client engagement.
- Experience in providing and managing Audio Visual equipment as a revenue stream.
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly Delphi, Salesforce, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to collaborate with external vendors to ensure client satisfaction for all events.
- Advanced knowledge of sales techniques, revenue management, and peer motivation.
- Flexibility to work with a variable schedule based on departmental needs.
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Solid background in hospitality and event planning.
- Proficient in MS Office applications and CRM platforms.
