Job Summary

MidAmerica Nazarene University is seeking a qualified Clinical Instructor to join our Pre-Licensure Nursing Education team. As a Clinical Instructor, you will be responsible for educating and supervising nursing students in clinical facilities, the nursing skills laboratory, and/or the Virtual Patient Center (VPC).

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend Clinical Instructor orientation and facility orientation at assigned locations
  • Supervise nursing students in the clinical setting, as directed by the didactic faculty member and Clinical Education Coordinator
  • Evaluate and grade students' clinical assignments
  • Make student clinical assignments and function as a clinical instructor in clinical facilities, the skills lab, and/or the VPC
  • Tutor and mentor students, preparing educational materials or the laboratory environment for learning activities
  • Maintain health relationships with facility educators and staff
  • Provide the course faculty with evaluative student data, according to course evaluation criteria
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
  • Earned Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree, enrollment in an MSN program, or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and attendance at an upcoming Clinical Faculty Academy
  • Active, unencumbered KS RN license required; ability to obtain a MO RN license required
  • Minimum of one year of clinical RN practice required
  • Completion of Collegiate Nursing Education requirements annually
  • Internet and phone access is required

  • Effective professional nurse role modeling for undergraduate nursing students
