Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and attentive Breakfast Attendant to join our team at the Sheraton San Jose Hotel. As a key member of our Club Lounge team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver outstanding service to guests in the Club Lounge, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and grooming, adhering to our hotel's uniform and name tag policy.
  • Greet and seat guests in a timely manner, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Ensure the quality and cleanliness of menus, tables, and hotel spaces, adhering to our high standards.
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables and hotel spaces as needed, maintaining a tidy and organized environment.
  • Stock, organize, and maintain service areas, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Accommodate special requests from guests, offering alternatives when necessary and communicating effectively with colleagues.
  • Support beverage and food service areas, including washing dishes, restocking supplies, and performing side work duties.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of menus, current specials, and hotel standards, ensuring accurate and efficient service.
  • Perform cashiering functions, closing checks, and end-of-shift paperwork with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Participate in opening and closing procedures, side work duties, and attend meetings as requested by management.
  • Provide exceptional knowledge of the hotel, local area attractions, and services, ensuring guests have a memorable experience.
Requirements
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • High School diploma or equivalent, and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Willingness to work a varied schedule, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Meet the legal age to serve alcoholic beverages and pass a responsible serving course, such as TIPS, as required by the property.
  • Obtain and provide a Food Handlers card, as required by the city/county/state.
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Handle stressful situations in a calm, professional manner.
  • Understanding of hotel products and guest services.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, answering phones and speaking with guests and team members.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and a desire to provide exceptional service to others.
  • Possess a basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  • Ability to perform numerical operations, read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and/or short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to effectively deal with customers and staff, executing high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Willingness to learn new tasks, provide backup and support to other team members, and respond to guests and co-workers in a positive and optimistic manner.
Working Conditions

This role requires a flexible schedule, including mornings and evenings, with some days requiring availability from 4pm-9:30pm. The hourly wage for this position is $20.00.
