We are seeking a highly skilled Authorization Specialist to join our team at Tarzana Treatment Centers, Inc.
Key Responsibilities- Contract Patient Authorization Management: Manage contract patient authorization status issues, ensuring timely and accurate processing of authorizations.
- Reporting and Analysis: Report on relevant measures and suggest improvement activities to optimize authorization processes.
- System Management: Input information into SAGE and AVATAR systems as required for authorization needs, and communicate with programs about authorization status.
- Denial Reconciliation: Review and reconcile denied authorizations from County funding sources, and communicate with program staff to reverse denials and maximize revenue.
- Process Improvement: Work with program staff to review admission and other relevant workflows to improve authorization processes and increase approvals.
- Training and Expertise: Attend trainings on authorization processes and communicate findings throughout the organization.
- Master's Degree: Master's level degree with at least three years of work experience required.
- Licensure: Must be licensed or licensed-eligible.
- Experience: Prior experience in auditing and/or quality assurance in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of Los Angeles Department of Public Health, authorization processes preferred.
