The Emergency Department Patient Access Representative provides exceptional customer service and ensures successful financial outcomes for patients in emergency department locations. This role requires thorough knowledge of compliance and regulatory documents, as well as excellent communication skills to maintain patient relations and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Appointment scheduling and registration
- Insurance verification and data entry
- Telephone coverage and filing protected health information
- Patient referrals and point-of-service collections
Education
- Associate degree in business, healthcare, or related field preferred
Experience
- PAR2: Minimum 1 year of experience with 2080 fulfilled hours in Patient Access Rep level 1 role or equivalent
- PAR1: Previous patient registration experience or related customer service, administrative, and/or data entry experience required
Licensure/Certifications
- Certified Healthcare Access Associate through the National Association of Healthcare Access Management, preferred
