Job Title: Civil Engineer - Waterfront and Coastal Structures

Taylor Engineering, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team in Destin, Florida. As a Staff Civil/Coastal Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and permitting waterfront and coastal structures, including seawalls, bulkheads, marine foundations, docks, piers, ship terminals, marinas, and boat ramps.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and analysis of waterfront and coastal structures
  • Permitting and inspection of marine structures
  • Coastal process analyses and feasibility studies
  • Artificial reef design and permitting
  • Construction observation and administration
  • Preparation of technical submittals and reports
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 0-4 years of experience in civil, coastal, or waterfront engineering
  • Registration as Engineer in Training (EIT) with commitment to pursue Florida Professional Engineer (PE) or Florida Structural Engineer (SE) licensure
Preferred Candidate Characteristics:
  • Organized and detail-oriented with ability to multi-task
  • Energetic and effective communicator with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Basic understanding of concrete design, steel design, timber design, and piling design
  • Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations using Matlab, Excel/VBA, or similar tools
