Job Summary

Taylor Engineering is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Civil/Coastal Engineer to join our team in Destin, Florida. As a key member of our waterfront, coastal, water resources, and environmental team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including analysis, design, permitting, and inspection of waterfront or marine structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and permitting of coastal structures, including seawalls, bulkheads, and marine foundations
  • Shore protection and coastal structure design, including beach nourishment and living shoreline breakwaters
  • Pile foundations and geotechnical design
  • Coastal process analyses, inlet management, and coastal feasibility studies
  • Artificial reef design, permitting, and monitoring
  • Construction observation and administration
  • Preparation of technical submittals, including letters, technical reports, drawings, and contract documents
  • Support environmental scientists with environmental monitoring and restoration design
  • Communicate with various governmental and regulatory agencies
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering or other applicable engineering disciplines
  • Experience: 0 - 4 years in civil, coastal, or waterfront engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) with education requirements and commitment to pursue Florida Professional Engineer (PE) or Florida Structural Engineer (SE) licensure
