Medicaid Coordinator Role

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Conduct thorough financial interviews with patients and their families to facilitate the Medicaid application process.

* Obtain necessary authorizations and documents from patients and financial institutions to support the application.

* Ensure timely submission of Medicaid applications and conversions, as well as follow-up with case workers as needed.

* Coordinate fair hearings and budget corrections, if necessary.

* Manage yearly Medicaid recertification and enrollments in mandatory MLTC plans.

* Educate patients and families on income payments and signature requirements.

* Discuss financial options with private patients and facilitate guardianship petitions when necessary.

* Handle HMO disenrollments and MLTC enrollments, as well as prepare requests for comprehensive payer sources.

**Requirements:**

* Experience in long-term care is preferred.
