Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Physician Assistant to join our Neurosurgery team. As a crucial member of our healthcare team, you will work under the supervision of a licensed physician to provide high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients under supervision and responsibility of a Physician.
  • Gathers complete history of patients and performs complete physical examinations or focused physical examinations for specific complaints. Completes discharge summaries and maintains documentation on patient visits.
  • Conducts daily patient rounds, as needed.
  • Recognizes and evaluates situations which require immediate attention of supervising physician and which require treatment procedures essential for life of patients; responds in appropriate manner.
  • Coordinates with supervising physician regarding patients seen such as sees patients in physician's office and hospital, instructs and counsels patients on health and disease issues based on assessment data.
  • Follows up with patient by phone (post treatment). Coordinates resources to facilitate care for out-of-town patients.
  • Prescribes and dispenses drugs and medical devices in accordance with regulations.
  • Monitors effectiveness of therapeutic interventions and makes appropriate referrals when necessary.
  • Secures patient health illness and psychological history by ordering, performing and interpreting appropriate laboratory, radiographic and other diagnostic tests.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years clinical experience in related area.
  • Background in pre-med. Degree as a Physician Assistant.
  • PA-C
  • DEA:AZ
  • Certification as Physician Assistant from Arizona Joint Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners, PA:AZ
  • Credentialed as allied health professional with CRMC and MGMC.
