Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Cashier at Goodwill Industries of Arkansas. As a Cashier, you will play a vital role in providing excellent customer service, operating a cash register, and maintaining a clean and safe store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, greeting and acknowledging all customers
  • Operate a cash register, scanner, or other equipment to total sales, accept payments, or process refunds, credits, and exchanges
  • Issue refunds and credits according to company policy and procedures
  • Accurately calculate discounts and other special offers
  • Bag, box, and wrap merchandise
  • Ensure the proper rotation of all store merchandise
  • Manage store's loss control by watching customers and employees and reporting suspicious activity to Loss Prevention
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment in the store, processing area, and/or donation center by practicing good housekeeping
Requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Some computer knowledge a plus
  • Ability to interact cordially and productively with a variety of people
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, on short notice, including holidays, nights, and weekends

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Frequent physical exertion and exposure to unfit donated goods.
