About the Role

We're looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to assist our data team in analyzing and visualizing data to tell compelling stories. As a Data Journalism Intern, you will work closely with our data team to develop and implement data-driven projects, and collaborate with our newsroom reporters to create engaging content.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in data analysis and visualization using tools such as spreadsheets, R, and Python
  • Develop and implement data-driven projects to tell compelling stories
  • Collaborate with newsroom reporters to create engaging content
  • Contribute to the development of data visualizations and interactive stories

Requirements

  • Strong news judgment and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in at least one data analysis tool, such as spreadsheets, R, or Python
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Datawrapper or Flourish

What We Offer

We offer a 10-week summer internship with our data journalism team, providing a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data analysis and visualization. You will work closely with our experienced data team and have the chance to develop your skills and build your portfolio.
