Job Summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks an experienced Associate Director to oversee the daily assignments for the Radiology Research Division Team Members in the Radiology Clinical Research Division. This role will involve project management, training, and implementation of study protocols and procedures, as well as personnel management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead optimization and process improvement efforts for patient recruitment and plan, implement, and administer large and multi-center clinical trial research projects.
  • Oversee interdepartmental and intradepartmental partnerships to facilitate clinical operations, including strategic partnerships with external research centers and departments.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance in accordance with FDA and other federal requirements, ICH-GCP, IRB guidelines, and other institutional guidelines and/or local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Determine and implement quality assurance measures within the Department of Radiology and develop and implement training for clinical research staff to ensure research compliance within the Clinical Research Division.
  • Recommend and make decisions regarding selection, hiring, work plans, and performance management for Radiology Clinical Research Division team members.
Requirements
  • Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution.
  • May require terminal degree and licensure.
  • Experience working with human subjects in a clinical research setting.
  • Preference will be given for individuals holding a clinical research certification (CCRP, CCRC, ACRP-CP, RAC).
  • At least 5 years of research experience in studies involving human subjects preferred.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
