Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and mentor a team of survey professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Work closely with project teams and clients to deliver high-quality survey services that meet their needs.
  • Perform field surveys on a one or two-person crew, leveraging expertise in transportation projects, including topographic surveys, utility surveys, right-of-way surveys, highway design surveys, and construction layout.
  • Contribute to project scoping, including estimating, assessing staffing needs, project scheduling, and coordination.
  • Manage office work, including point and data management, data reduction, and base file creation using C3D and TBC.
  • Occasionally, travel to other office locations for project needs, with some overnight stays.

Requirements:

  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying or Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in land surveying, with a proven track record of delivering quality results.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and planning skills, with experience leading survey crews.
  • A background in modern survey methods, including the use of robotic total stations, data collectors, Trimble Business Center, and GPS/VRS.
  • Knowledge of WisDOT FDM Chapters 9 and 12.
  • A path to registration as a professional land surveyor (PLS) is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with Civil 3D is highly desirable.
  • WisDOT project experience is a significant advantage.
  • A valid driver's license is essential.
