Radiologic Team Lead

As a Radiologic Team Lead at Advocate Health, you will play a critical role in planning, leading, and coordinating the daily activities of our technical and support staff in Diagnostic Imaging. This includes supervising and coordinating the activities of our team members in areas such as Computerized Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Ultrasound, and Interventional Radiology.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of maintaining proper staffing levels, developing and maintaining productivity and quality standards, and recommending and implementing Quality Assurance (QA) and Performance Improvement programs. You will also be responsible for maintaining a direct line of communication with our Manager, Group Leaders, Technologists, Radiologists, and other hospital departments to ensure optimal patient flow and patient care.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining proper staffing levels and developing and maintaining productivity and quality standards.
- Recommending and implementing Quality Assurance (QA) and Performance Improvement programs.
- Maintaining a direct line of communication with our Manager, Group Leaders, Technologists, Radiologists, and other hospital departments.
- Serving as a resource for interpretation, education, and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Monitoring room utilization and providing work direction to technical nursing staff as necessary.
- Establishing and maintaining an extensive in-service program for Radiologic Technologists.
- Planning, organizing, establishing, and maintaining technical and system changes and improvements that are cost-effective and benefit patient care.
- Investigating patient, family, physician, nursing, and/or hospital staff complaints and responding to suggestions and complaints in a timely manner.
- Participating in the budget process and being responsible for operating within budgetary allocations.
- Initiating, participating, and assisting in the research, purchase, and implementation of capital acquisitions.
- Maintaining an adequate supply of operating materials in a cost-effective manner.
- Responsible for adhering to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing the technical and clinical practice of Radiology.
- Responsible for the adherence to all the Joint Commission (TJC) and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) standards governing the technical and clinical practice of Radiology.
- Performing human resources responsibilities for staff, including coaching on performance, completing performance reviews, and overall staff morale.
- Recommending hiring, compensation changes, promotions, corrective action decisions, and terminations.
- Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations, and laws applicable to the organization's business.
Requirements include:
- Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification (CNMT) issued by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology, or Associate's Degree in Radiation Therapy or related field.
- Typically requires 3 years of experience in a recognized imaging modality required, with proven technical knowledge of assigned modality, with experience as a lead or senior level staff.
- Excellent human relations, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
