Job Description

Amplify is seeking a highly skilled Instructional Coach, Literacy Specialist to join our Professional Development team as a fixed-term employee for Los Angeles Unified School District for the school year.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coaching and Training: Provide onsite coaching and training support in schools for teachers and leaders in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) who are implementing Amplify's literacy suite.
  • Professional Development: Design and deliver professional development sessions for leaders and teachers, including model lessons, co-teaching, and facilitating professional learning communities (PLCs).
  • Equity and Inclusion: Support teachers in enhancing equity of learning for diverse student populations, including students with learning and thinking differences and English learners.
  • Program Knowledge: Build knowledge about Amplify's early literacy programs, including mCLASS and Boost/Boost Lectura, to support a cohesive educator experience across products.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience leading sustained coaching engagements and professional development for educators in K-5, with a proven track record of improving student outcomes.
  • Teaching Experience: 7+ years of K-5 classroom literacy teaching experience, with demonstrable results for students.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in Spanish, with the ability to deliver trainings in Spanish.
  • Technology Skills: Proficient in the use of technology-based productivity tools, including Microsoft and Google Applications.
  • Travel: Local travel is required, with the ability to commute to schools in the Los Angeles area.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with CKLA: Experience teaching or supporting Amplify's Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) program.
  • Master's Degree: Master's or advanced degree in education.
