POSITION SUMMARY:

Kforce Inc. is seeking a skilled Project Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role is essential for ensuring the financial integrity of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess experience with Sage/Timberline and QuickBooks, and will be responsible for various accounting functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the development of budgets and financial forecasts, and analyze variances.
  • Prepare and review contract-related invoices, including AIA billing and percentage of completion.
  • Manage and code change orders and purchase orders as needed.
  • Ensure accuracy in billing according to contract terms.
  • Generate variance reports utilizing Excel.
  • Create and distribute weekly and monthly billing statements and financial reports.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and engage with clients to facilitate timely payments, including issuing monthly statements.
  • Accurately apply payments in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with audit teams to confirm that all billable costs are recorded and invoiced.
  • Prepare and disseminate monthly financial statements and project reports promptly.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a staff accounting or public accounting role, with exposure to the construction industry (AIA).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and accounting software such as Sage/Timberline and QuickBooks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent decision-making abilities, capable of resolving complex accounting challenges.
