**About the Role**
We are seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical System. As a key member of our facilities engineering team, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and evaluating control, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, central utility, conveyance, and medical gas systems used in and proposed for our medical center.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement infrastructure masterplans for UMMC facilities, working closely with the Senior Hospital Engineer and Director of Project Development.
- Develop, maintain, and promulgate engineering design standards for the Medical Center, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and accreditation bodies.
- Assist with capital planning, construction quality review, and commissioning and recommissioning of new and existing physical plant systems.
- Collaborate with project managers, consultants, contractors, medical and support staff, and clinical users to ensure effective project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with a Master's degree preferred.
- Five years of experience with healthcare systems engineering design, planning, or plant operations, with a Registered Professional Engineer's license in the state of Maryland preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local electrical, mechanical standards, codes, designs, and regulations pertinent to the hospital environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills.
