Job Title: Asphalt Distributor / Tack Truck Driver

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused individual to join our team as an Asphalt Distributor / Tack Truck Driver in Duncan, SC.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating the tack truck, assisting the crew with shoveling and other tasks, maintaining the truck, and adhering to all safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate the tack truck and shoot tack on roads within specifications
  • Assist the crew with shoveling and other tasks when the tack truck is not in use
  • Maintain the truck and keep it clean
  • Heat the tank prior to starting work
  • Set string lines on road edges if needed
  • Work nights and weekends as required
  • Drive safely and consistently
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar field (preferred)
  • Valid Class A or B CDL (Tanker Endorsement) and good driving record
  • Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) and Reeves Construction Company safety regulations
  • High school education, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working in and around construction equipment
  • One or more years of experience in a similar field
  • Ability to lift 45 pounds
Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this job include:

  • Climbing onto and up and down a machine several times a day
  • Sitting in a machine and operating it for several hours without stopping
  • Withstanding vibration from job site conditions and noise from other equipment
  • Using arms, hands, and feet in repetitive motions

  • Moving mechanical parts
  • Outside weather conditions
  • Vibration
  • Fumes or airborne particles
  • Wet and/or humid conditions
  • High, precarious places
  • Toxic or caustic chemicals
