As a Home Health Speech-Language Pathologist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing home-based speech therapy to patients with communication, swallowing, or cognitive difficulties due to an illness or injury
  • Working as part of a home health team focused on the patient's plan of care and established goals
  • Observing and evaluating a patient's ability to communicate, swallow, and process information
  • Conducting patient assessments, documenting progress, and ensuring patient goals are met
  • Assisting with mouth, breathing, and swallowing exercises, fluency, articulation, and reading
  • Educating patients and families on the plan of care, therapy goals, safety practices, and self-care

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Speech Language Program and active SLP license in Michigan
  • At least one year of experience as an SLP in the last five years
  • Good clinical judgment, strong interpersonal skills, resourcefulness, and compassion
  • Previous Home Health experience is preferred
