About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Engineer to join our team at Eaton. As a Product Engineer, you will be responsible for providing electrical and mechanical design and documentation support for power distribution or control product lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consult with plant and field sales engineers to interpret and define new equipment applications.
  • Develop complex drawings and bills-of-material based on established product designs.
  • Coordinate mechanical and electrical interfaces with other products.
  • Advise drafting/design, manufacturing, and purchasing teams on equipment production.
  • Manage purchaser onsite visits to approve and/or release equipment for shipping.
  • Manage manufacturing and engineering change notices.
  • Demonstrate advanced computer skills and ability to learn required software.
  • Consult with quality teams to resolve issues after equipment shipment.
  • Conduct special development/application projects of a complex nature.
  • Inform cost and cycle time improvement activities.
  • Conduct technical training guidance and seminars as required.
  • Analyze needs and recommend revisions to department policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • Minimum of one internship or co-op experience or an equivalent of 3 months of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
  • Electrical, mechanical, or manufacturing internship/co-op experience.
  • Knowledge of power distribution products.
  • Experience with PLC or relay programming.
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Project management experience.
Position Criteria
  • Geographical flexibility to relocate within the United States to an Eaton facility.
  • Strong analytical, computer, writing, presentation, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to customers and manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of electrical and mechanical engineering.
  • Knowledge of design standards.
