We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic Specialist to join our team at Performance Foodservice.
Job DescriptionThe Diesel Mechanic Technician Class B is a key role in ensuring the safe operation and compliance of our company fleet diesel equipment. As a specialist in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues, and training other mechanics. This position requires 3-5 years of experience in diesel equipment repair, including PM's, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and refrigeration experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication of equipment and machinery.
- Diagnose and repair complex issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and other critical systems.
- Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, and other vital components to ensure proper operating condition.
- Complete thorough documentation of work orders and repairs through our online Enterprise Asset Management system.
- Train and guide other mechanics in best practices and procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 3-5 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and related systems.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Competitive salary: $29-$35 per hour, based on experience.
