Job Summary

SSM Health is seeking a skilled Neurodiagnostic Technologist to join our team at Saint Louis University Hospital. As a key member of our Neurophysiology Lab and Epilepsy Unit, you will be responsible for performing neurodiagnostic testing, including EEG, EP, MEG, TMS, and Electrocorticography. Your expertise will help us provide high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform standard and complex EEG recordings according to established lab protocol and guidelines set forth by the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society.
  • Summarize patient neurological status and clinical history, and complete necessary documentation for physician interpretation.
  • Monitor EEG for special studies, including WADA and ictal SPECT studies.
  • Perform long-term epilepsy monitoring to evaluate patients with paroxysmal disturbances of cerebral function.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies for all studies performed.
  • Complete all necessary documentation for departmental record, patient procedures, etc.
  • Participate and assist in education and training opportunities.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 10 years of work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • No experience required, but BLS certification is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of neurophysiology testing and technology a plus.
Working Conditions

May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases. Regularly exposed to the risk of blood-borne pathogens. Exposed to hazardous anesthetic agents, body fluids, and wastes. Subject to electrical and radiant energy hazards. Occasional exposure to unpleasant patient or unit elements. May be exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, and illness). Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. May be required to handle emergency or crisis situations. Occasionally subjected to irregular hours.
