Job Description

As a Store Manager Trainee at ALDI, you will embark on a comprehensive training program designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in a leadership role within our retail operations. Your primary responsibilities will include supervising day-to-day store activities, ensuring overall store performance, identifying staffing needs, managing schedules, and developing operational action plans while mentoring and developing the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train store personnel to ensure exceptional customer service and store performance
  • Develop and implement operational action plans to drive sales growth and improve store efficiency
  • Manage store schedules, staffing levels, and employee development to meet business objectives
  • Conduct regular store meetings and provide feedback to employees to enhance performance and engagement
  • Identify and address customer concerns, ensuring prompt and courteous resolution
  • Ensure proper store signage and product presentation to maintain a clean and attractive store environment
  • Assist in the hiring process by reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and making recommendations for new hires
  • Prepare and manage weekly schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels
  • Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations and provide recommendations for advancement or termination
  • Manage cash audits and maintain store security and confidentiality
  • Monitor the competitive environment and provide recommendations to improve store performance
  • Provide product feedback and recommendations to improve product offerings
  • Ensure a safe working environment by identifying and addressing hazards, maintaining equipment, and promoting proper ergonomics
  • Oversee product merchandising and maintain proper stock levels through effective inventory management
  • Conduct store inventory counts and reconciliations according to company guidelines

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
  • A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
  • Prior management experience preferred
