This position operates under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Academics.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Offers strategic leadership to educators to promote ongoing enhancement in teaching and learning.
- Collaborates with school leadership to devise coaching strategies and professional development opportunities tailored to institutional needs, supported by research on effective teaching practices.
- Works alongside subject-specific Instructional Specialists to address the diverse learning requirements of all students.
- Guides educators in refining instructional techniques through co-planning, co-teaching, and demonstrating effective teaching practices.
- Engages in reflective practices regarding coaching methods, sharing successful strategies, resolving challenges, and participating in professional development.
- Assists school leadership in the recruitment of teaching staff.
- Partners with the Student Services department to establish departmental objectives, analyze data, monitor student progress, and plan instruction.
Instruction & Feedback
- Acts as a subject matter expert in differentiated instruction for exceptional learners, equipping others with strategies for student success.
- Guides teachers in crafting unit and lesson plans that incorporate activities fostering critical thinking skills among students.
- Conducts classroom observations, documents findings, and provides constructive feedback for professional growth.
- Co-teaches and exemplifies instructional practices as necessary.
- Facilitates reflective discussions among teachers through guided inquiries.
- Offers feedback and promotes reflection on classroom management, instructional strategies, assessments, and resources.
- Evaluates student data to inform feedback to educators and students, aiming for improved academic outcomes.
Data Collection & Analysis
- Guides educators in pinpointing specific learning needs and developing targeted action plans to address identified gaps.
- Organizes and leads bi-weekly data team meetings for ongoing analysis.
- Examines trends in student performance data, utilizing various sources including academic and cultural metrics.
- Triangulates data to assess student growth, formulate coaching strategies, and determine subsequent instructional steps.
- Mentors assigned educators in establishing learning and instructional objectives based on diverse data sources.
- Conducts instructional rounds with school leaders and educators to gather data and inform instructional and professional development decisions.
- Collaborates closely with the Assistant Director of Academics to ensure adherence to organizational data usage directives.
Professional Development
- Utilizes classroom data to drive continuous, job-embedded professional learning for educators centered on best instructional practices.
- Develops professional learning syllabi aligned with the Paul Teacher Evaluation Framework, integrating teacher performance data.
- Facilitates instructional rounds with school leaders and departments focused on effective teaching practices.
Progress Monitoring
- Keeps accurate and current records of educator progress in relation to coaching objectives.
- Ensures educators track student progress and make instructional adjustments accordingly.
- Regularly meets with leadership to discuss educator and student progress.

Requirements- Master's degree in a relevant field preferred.
