Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Party Chief II to oversee and manage our survey crews. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in survey calculations, project controls, and team management.
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Direct and mentor Survey Technicians I and II, as well as Party Chiefs I.
- Survey Calculations: Perform complex survey calculations to conduct surveys and ensure accuracy.
- Project Controls: Identify and establish project controls to ensure timely completion and budget adherence.
- Field Notes and Records: Compile accurate field notes, records, and sketches of work performed.
- Survey Assignments: Complete complex and difficult survey assignments with minimal supervision.
- Stakeholder Communication: Work with project stakeholders to establish survey requirements and communicate project status.
- Crew Management: Communicate with crew members to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Attendance and Performance: Maintain regular and reliable attendance, and review or check the work product of others.
- Language and Compliance: Understand and comply with written or oral instructions in the English language, and complete forms and report information in standard format.
- Travel and Background Check: Ability to travel and pass a background test.
- Physical Demands: Travel across rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces, move objects 20-50 pounds long distances, use a 16-pound sledgehammer, traverse distances up to a 1/2 mile at a time, and work outside in all seasons/weather conditions.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED, minimum of 5+ years of survey or related experience, thorough knowledge of construction, boundary, and topographic surveys, and NSPS/ACSM Certified Survey Technician - at least Level 3.
- Software and Equipment: Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Carlson, and ability to adapt to new equipment and technologies.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
