Finger Lakes Community Health is a leading healthcare provider in the region, dedicated to delivering high-quality medical, dental, and behavioral health services to patients of all ages and backgrounds.

Our organization has a rich history, dating back to 1989, when we were founded with the mission of serving the region's agricultural workers. Over the years, we have grown and expanded our services to become a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), serving patients of all incomes, ethnicities, and walks of life.

Today, we operate eight health centers, providing medical, dental, and behavioral health services to over 28,000 patients. With a team of over 200 employees, we strive to provide innovative and compassionate care to the communities we serve.

Job Summary

The Staff Dentist is a key member of our dental team, responsible for providing diagnostic and treatment services to our patients. As a Staff Dentist, you will be working in a fast-paced environment, providing routine and emergency services, including diagnosis and treatment plans, general restorative procedures, crown and bridge, removable prosthetics, uncomplicated endodontics, and minor oral surgery.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide routine and emergency services, including diagnosis and treatment plans, general restorative procedures, crown and bridge, removable prosthetics, uncomplicated endodontics, and minor oral surgery.
  • Order x-rays and interpret.
  • Administer and prescribe anesthetics and medications.
  • Direct dental staff to schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
  • Refer patients to other clinical programs or outside agencies as needed.
  • Oversee site dental staff to ensure patient care meets appropriate dental standards.
  • Chart and lock notes within a timely manner in accordance with Finger Lakes Community Health policies and procedures.
  • Address telephone encounters and actions in the electronic health record system in accordance with Finger Lakes Community Health policies and procedures.
Education and Qualifications
  • A current unrestricted license to practice as a Dentist in NYS.
  • CPR certification required (can be provided).
  • 1-3 years of experience working in a dental setting.
  • The ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings.
  • A valid NYS driver's license in compliance with FLCH driver's policy.
  • The ability to communicate fluently in both Spanish and English is preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to hear and communicate with clients and staff via phone, web media, and in person.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to kneel, crawl, or bend into awkward spaces.
  • OSHA Level 1.
