HIRING FOR ALL SHIFTS
The Medical Imaging Specialist is responsible for conducting x-ray examinations to generate diagnostic images essential for identifying various health conditions. These procedures may take place at multiple locations affiliated with the healthcare system. Proficiency is necessary for operating both stationary and portable x-ray equipment. Experience in high-acuity environments, surgical settings, and outpatient services is essential. Medical Imaging Specialists are also expected to contribute to the education of student technologists.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Demonstrates proficiency in the operation of all x-ray machinery, both stationary and portable, ensuring service delivery across the department. Takes initiative to meet personal competency standards.
- Exhibits adaptability in exploring innovative methods in response to evolving organizational and healthcare demands.
- Seeks guidance appropriately regarding policies, patient safety, infection control, and other departmental and organizational protocols. Comprehends, endorses, and practices current regulations and standards at both state and national levels.
- Prioritizes safety for all individuals, including staff, patients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Ensures timely patient care and recognizes the importance of technologist involvement in the patient transport process for optimal satisfaction.
- Provides constructive feedback to Radiology leadership concerning interactions that enhance the delivery of exceptional care in a teaching environment. Engages with all hospital stakeholders to promote patient and customer satisfaction.
- Acts as a resource within the department, facilitating ongoing education for all relevant personnel; serves as a role model. Ensures effective communication is maintained in various formats.
- Responsible for reporting potential hazards, safety concerns, and behavioral issues that could compromise a safe and exemplary healthcare setting to Radiology leadership.
- Completes mandatory educational tasks as assigned by Team Leaders, Supervisors, or Assistant Directors.
- Performs other duties as necessary.
- Must be capable of executing the professional, clinical, and technical competencies required for the designated unit or department.

- High School Diploma
- Graduation from a 2-year accredited Radiology Technology program
- Associate's Degree
- Bachelor's Degree
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT) - Kansas Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA) within 90 Days
- Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Additional language proficiency is a plus
- Ability to utilize computer systems for patient testing and to access data related to quality and performance monitoring.
