Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Providence Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare.

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform diagnostic imaging procedures and therapeutic treatments using radioactive materials. This role is crucial in helping diagnose and treat various medical conditions by providing valuable information about the structure and function of organs and tissues within the body.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of radioactive materials, imaging technology, patient care, and radiation safety. They will be responsible for preparing radioactive materials, administering radiopharmaceuticals to patients, and performing imaging studies using specialized nuclear medicine equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare radioactive materials for administration to patients
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients through various routes
  • Perform imaging studies using specialized nuclear medicine equipment
  • Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols
  • Perform quality control checks on imaging equipment and radiopharmaceuticals

Requirements:

  • Current State Nuclear Medicine License issued by CDPH, A.R.R.T. or N.M.T.C.B.
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology required
  • One year of acute, clinical radiology experience preferred
  • At least one year of experience as a nuclear medicine technologist preferred
  • Knowledge of mobile and stationary Radiographic / Fluoroscopic equipment preferred
