Position: Magnetic Resonance Imaging Specialist

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts with rotational day, night, and weekend coverage

Compensation: Competitive hourly wage ranging from $30.27 to $45.45, based on experience. Sign-on bonus available up to $30,000 with a three-year commitment, along with relocation assistance between $3,000 and $5,000, and a $9,000 student loan repayment for eligible graduates.

Overview:

System One, a prominent provider of workforce solutions, is in search of a dedicated Magnetic Resonance Imaging Specialist. This role involves operating MRI equipment to produce high-quality images of patients' internal anatomy, which are crucial for medical diagnosis and treatment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain clinical proficiency for all imaging procedures and equipment.
  • Ensure accurate patient identification using two identifiers and adhere to universal protocols during examinations.
  • Review patient medical history and physician orders, applying departmental protocols to optimize imaging results, including the preparation and administration of contrast agents.
  • Document patient information in electronic health records as required.
  • Prior to examinations, present relevant information to the physician based on established protocols.
  • Ensure proper coding and tracking of all exams through the Radiology Information System (RIS), maintain updated patient records, and ensure all images are archived and interpreted correctly.
  • Uphold safety standards in the MRI department.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and colleagues, demonstrating compassion, respect, and teamwork.
  • Conduct procedures for reviewing, processing, and archiving imaging data.
  • Communicate clearly with patients, explaining procedures to alleviate concerns and encourage cooperation.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program or completion of an accredited CNMT or ARDMS program. Must obtain MR registry within 18 months of hire.
  • For advanced MRI Technologists: Completion of formal training in an MRI-related program accredited by the ARRT, with a minimum of two years of MRI experience.
  • Current CPR or BLS certification required, adhering to AHA standards.
  • ARRT certification or equivalent Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) certification.

Additional Requirements:

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting certification with renewal.
  • Act 33 certification with renewal.
  • Act 34 certification with renewal.
