Job Title: General Manufacturing Manager 2

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a highly skilled General Manufacturing Manager 2 to join our SMT SALT (Space and Autoline Technologies) Team at our new Troy Hill facility in Elkridge, MD.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned manufacturing professional to lead our 2nd Shift team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of approximately 15-25 employees, managing processes, and implementing process improvements to achieve affordability, quality, and schedule targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and coordinate the activities to plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedules, in conjunction with Material Requirements Planning, to meet production/delivery requirements
  • Oversee the status of work in process, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that equipment, materials, and services are available, as needed
  • Meet product cost and schedule targets
  • Facilitate and lead WCM meetings/projects
  • Utilize both internal and external resources, and coordinate cell and functional activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, inventory control, transportation, etc.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality to correct issues quickly and/or improve efficiencies in manufacturing
  • Assign and manage staff to maximize efficiency and achieve schedule and target productive yields
  • Perform required SAP/CATS/Workday transactions to manage personnel, planning and financials
  • Provide specific direction and training, as required
  • Ensure 5S practices within cell areas
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in Manufacturing, Production, IT or an Engineering environment, Master's Degree with 6 years of experience in Manufacturing, Production, IT or an Engineering environment (Note, 12 years of relevant work experience in Manufacturing, Production, IT or an Engineering environment may be considered in lieu of degree)
  • Previous project and personnel management experience
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Level Security Clearance is required

Salary Range: $108,900 - $163,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
