Bilingual Patient Service Representative

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and bilingual Patient Service Representative to join our team at Triad Adult and Pediatric Medicine, Inc. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Register patients in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring all necessary information is collected and updated in our electronic health record.
- Verify patient insurance information and update records as needed.
- Collect co-payments and amounts due from patients, providing receipts and ensuring accurate financial transactions.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Translate and interpret for patients and staff as needed, promoting cultural sensitivity and understanding.
- Maintain a clean and organized waiting area, ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Perform administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and report preparation.
- Collaborate with the insurance clerk and DSS workers to verify patient eligibility and resolve any issues.
- Follow established medical group guidelines and appointment scheduling policies to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Answer incoming phone calls, expediting them to the appropriate individual and following TAPM phone etiquette policies.
- Document triage calls, sending information to the nurse via task and maintaining accurate records.
- Balance cash drawers and verify insurance forms at the end of each day.
- Perform closing procedures, including turning off monitors, copiers, and lights, and locking the front door.
- Prepare reports for no-shows and faxes to our community agency for follow-up.
- Prepare reports for the supervisor, including details of all patients on the recall list.
- Print immunization records as requested by patients and assist with medical records as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies regarding safety, health, and regulations.
- Print the final daily schedule to verify each patient who was registered and treated.
- Adapt to various situations and adjust to shifting priorities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school education with additional specialized courses.
- Proficiency in English oral and written communication.
- Bi-lingual assistants must also be proficient in Spanish, both oral and written communication.
- A working knowledge of data processing equipment, computers (Excel, word processing), telephones, and typical office machines and equipment.
- Excellent customer service abilities.
- A current NC driver's license for occasional outside travel.
