Position Overview:
This role is designed to assist community members and law enforcement by responding to situations involving mental health, substance use, and other social service needs, providing immediate assistance and connecting individuals to necessary resources.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide crisis intervention to individuals facing various challenges, including mental health and substance use issues. Facilitate referrals to resources that offer support and treatment, which may encompass clinical care, peer support, housing assistance, financial aid, medical services, legal help, transportation, food security, and employment opportunities.
2. Collaborate with law enforcement to deliver crisis support during calls, ensuring stabilization and connection to appropriate care systems.
3. Offer referrals for ongoing support to community members who frequently engage with law enforcement, guiding them to suitable service providers without necessitating police involvement.
4. Deliver mental health and/or substance use consultation to the broader community, local agencies, professional networks, and educational institutions as needed. This consultation may be educational or evaluative, tailored to the clinician's expertise.
5. Provide case management services as required, which may include coordination with other agencies, communication with family members or significant others, and support in locating and accessing care services.
6. Maintain comprehensive and timely clinical records and administrative documentation, including client assessments, service notes, time sheets, schedules, and billing reports.
7. Actively participate in necessary administrative and clinical meetings aimed at informing, problem-solving, and coordinating services and programs.
Qualifications:
Educational / Experience / Credential Requirements:
Associate degree in mental health or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in human services or emergency services with a focus on trauma and crisis response. Training in trauma-informed care and related mental health certifications is preferred.
License Required:
Must possess a valid driver's license and be capable of providing services in various settings. Access to reliable transportation is essential.
Computer Skills Required:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary.
