Director of Cardiovascular Services

As the Director of Cardiovascular Services, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for our cardiovascular services, including Non-Invasive Cardiology, Cardiac Rehab, Cardiac Outpatient Imaging, and Cardiac Cath Lab. You will be responsible for managing and guiding first-line supervisors, interviewing, work allocation, orientation, training, staff development, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and motivation of employees to achieve peak performance. You will also be responsible for meeting unit productivity targets, participating in planning and development of operational and equipment budgets, and gathering and preparing monthly reports on cardiovascular activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary leadership and support for cardiovascular services, including Non-Invasive Cardiology, Cardiac Rehab, Cardiac Outpatient Imaging, and Cardiac Cath Lab.
- Manage and guide first-line supervisors, including interviewing, work allocation, orientation, training, staff development, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and motivation of employees.
- Meet unit productivity targets and participate in planning and development of operational and equipment budgets.
- Gather and prepare monthly reports on cardiovascular activities and ensure collection of pertinent research and report findings to support cardiovascular service line development.
- Develop and implement a strategic plan to meet organizational needs and support primary business goals in collaboration with key leaders.
- Monitor department productivity to ensure appropriate efficiency of departmental operations and observe conditions of participation, requirements, or regulations of The Joint Commission, MS, and other regulatory agencies.
- Promote the cardiac service line by interacting with key stakeholders, including patients, families, physicians, physician's offices, and other system or facility departments, to ensure their needs are met and promote a positive image of Cardiovascular Services.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration with 2 years of management experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or related healthcare field.
- High school diploma or GED and 4 years of Cardiac Cath Lab management experience or a combination of 4 years of post-high school education and Cardiac Cath Lab management experience.
- Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and RN license to practice as a professional registered nurse in the state of Texas or active multi-state RN compact license.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of hospital and/or multi-facility management experience or healthcare background.
- Experience in healthcare service line development, strategic planning, and decision support.
