Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing professional patient care and assisting cardiologists, vascular surgeons, and radiologists in performing cardiac diagnostic, interventional, and invasive radiology procedures. The Cardiovascular Technologist I utilizes the patient care process to ensure safe and competent quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in all procedures performed in the invasive cardiology area
  • Support the medical care of patients requiring cardiac or peripheral catheterization and/or intervention
  • Collaborate with the medical staff to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school graduate or equivalent
  • A degree in Radiological Sciences, Allied Health Science, or Cardiovascular Technologist Associate degree
  • A minimum of one to three years of experience in cardiac catheterization procedures
  • Basic knowledge of cardiac anatomy and EKG rhythms
  • Medical Radiologist Technologist (MRT) certification through the Texas Medical Board
  • Registry from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCIS)
  • Limited Medical Radiological Technologist (LMRT) eligibility or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) eligibility
  • BLS for Healthcare Worker certification
  • ACLS certification within 90 days of employment
