Position Summary

The Own Brands Technical Services team is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Associate. This role is essential for ensuring compliance with product labeling across various brands within Albertsons Own Brands. The RA Associate will collaborate with multiple departments, including Product Development, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, and Legal, to manage regulatory activities related to product development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide regulatory guidance on cross-functional project teams, ensuring that all consumer brand packaging adheres to federal, state, and local regulations. This includes daily collaboration with marketing, graphic design, and sourcing teams.
  • Develop label copy, including ingredient statements and nutrition facts, while validating complex claims and approving graphics to ensure regulatory accuracy.
  • Support the commercialization process by managing regulatory tasks, including label copy reviews and claims substantiation, while maintaining necessary documentation.
  • Oversee content management for regulatory systems, ensuring accurate information is maintained.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of U.S. labeling regulations (USDA, FDA, EPA) to ensure compliance with ingredient statements, nutrition facts, and allergen declarations.
  • Exhibit strategic thinking and the ability to monitor and interpret compliance with current and future U.S. regulations.

Qualifications
  • Experience in Food Service, Food Science, Dietetics, or Nutrition is preferred; a formal degree is not mandatory, but relevant experience is essential.
  • A minimum of 2 years in technical data entry or administrative support, preferably within the retail sector.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and technical data entry is required.
  • Experience collaborating with technical teams is advantageous.
  • Strong typing skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are essential.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with peers and supervisors.
  • Ability to engage directly with product suppliers to ensure compliance with information requests.
