Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our team at GNC. As a key member of our supply chain organization, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing strategies to ensure the continuity of supply for all GNC products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Strategic Sourcing Strategies: Utilize industry analysis, criticality analysis, business knowledge, competitive analysis, and sourcing expertise to develop strategic sourcing strategies for specific categories being purchased.
  • Lead Category Management Teams: Lead a team of category managers and sourcing analysts to develop short-term and long-term category strategies and execute on cost savings plans as it pertains to the goals set forth by leadership.
  • Manage Sourcing Process: Lead and coach internal business partners and team members on the sourcing process, including gathering requirements, market analysis, identifying sources, proposal evaluation, negotiations, contract creation, contract management, spend analysis, and long-term category planning.
  • Build Strategic Relationships: Build effective, strategic relationships with Supply Chain Management business partners and internal stakeholders, using personal influence skills to persuade others and gain support.
  • Align with Business Strategy: Align and collaborate with Business Executives of functional areas to understand business strategy and develop sourcing strategies to drive optimal value in the purchase of goods and services.
  • Establish Supplier Relationship Management: Establish supplier relationship management processes and continuous improvement goals/programs.
  • Monitor Market Dynamics: Monitor market dynamics that impact materials/services availability and/or pricing.
  • Support Product Development: Work with our finished product manufacturing partners and raw material suppliers to identify challenges associated with the development of new products as it pertains to new product concepts, new/existing packaging designs, raw material and component sourcing.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required.
  • Experience: 8+ years progressive in sourcing of dietary supplement (DS) raw materials, bulk supplements, and/or packaging components experience preferred.
  • Leadership Experience: 5+ years in a leadership role (direct or indirect)
  • Industry Experience: 2+ years' experience in the nutrition industry or comparable experience.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning). Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts. Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients. Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management. Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
