We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Sourcing Leader to join our team in our pursuit of excellence in health and wellness. As a key member of our sourcing team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing strategies that drive business value, improve supply chain resilience, and support our innovation agenda.

Job Description

The Strategic Sourcing Leader will be a critical partner to our business stakeholders, working closely with Product Development, Brand, and other internal departments, as well as external manufacturing partners. Your primary focus will be on sourcing goods, materials, and services that meet our quality, service, and price expectations, ensuring continuity of supply for all our products. You will also develop sourcing programs, specify suppliers and commodities that support our strategic vision, and contribute to achieving our business goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strategic sourcing strategies for specific categories, leveraging industry analysis, criticality analysis, business knowledge, competitive analysis, and sourcing expertise.
  • Lead a team of category managers and sourcing analysts to develop short-term and long-term category strategies and execute on cost savings plans that align with our business objectives.
  • Lead and coach internal business partners and team members on the sourcing process, including gathering requirements, market analysis, identifying sources, proposal evaluation, negotiations, contract creation, contract management, spend analysis, and long-term category planning.
  • Perform strategic sourcing work to manage risk and optimize the value and resilience of materials/services sourcing.
  • Build effective, strategic relationships with Supply Chain Management business partners and internal stakeholders, using personal influence skills to persuade others and gain support.
  • Align and collaborate with Business Executives of functional areas to understand business strategy and develop sourcing strategies that drive optimal value in the purchase of goods and services.
  • Support Marketing and Retail Ops leadership in the development of supply base and commodity strategies that align with business initiatives.
  • Establish supplier relationship management processes and continuous improvement goals/programs.
  • Work with our finished product manufacturing partners and raw material suppliers to identify challenges associated with the development of new products, including new product concepts, new/existing packaging designs, raw material and component sourcing.
  • Monitor market dynamics that impact materials/services availability and/or pricing.
  • Work with clients across the business to analyze demand and assist in the specification of goods and services to be supplied.
  • Provide product development support based on experience and knowledge of global material and component manufacturers.
  • Partner with internal clients to identify sourcing needs, develop buyer/market profiles, identify marketplace trends, and define acceptable service levels.
  • Responsible for optimizing the supply chain to support Brand/Marketing concept and innovation development.
  • Investigate and recommend new supplement/component manufacturers, manufacturing technologies, and potential manufacturing partners, emphasizing high quality, small MOQs, short lead-times, and low cost.
  • Provide regular communication to Business and Supply Chain leadership on project status, contract renewals, category performance, and various initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master's) preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in sourcing of dietary supplement (DS) raw materials, bulk supplements, and/or packaging components experience preferred.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role (direct or indirect).
  • 2+ years' experience in the nutrition industry or comparable experience.
  • Prior managerial/supervisory experience preferred.
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, and Internet applications required.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), and planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning).
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
