Position Overview

The Branch Operations Director is responsible for managing the branch in a financially sound manner, adhering to TAL's policies and procedures. This role focuses on achieving set objectives, cultivating a highly efficient team, and ensuring outstanding customer service and satisfaction. The position involves overseeing production, distribution, and marketing activities within the branch, utilizing available resources to maximize returns and promote sustainable growth while protecting company assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a customer-centric attitude among all staff members.
  • Achieve or surpass the branch's annual operational goals.
  • Implement and maintain TAL's Safety Program at the branch.
  • Drive a proactive sales strategy for retail customers and contractors, collaborating with clients and headquarters to explore opportunities for service and product enhancements.
  • Oversee both internal and external operations, focusing on profit margins, expense management, inventory control, deliveries, and cleanliness.
  • Leverage Spruce data to assess branch performance and enhance sales, margins, and inventory management.
  • Manage personnel functions, including recruitment, training, motivation, evaluation, compensation, and termination.
  • Assist in purchasing activities alongside marketing and procurement teams to meet customer demands and facilitate sales, including inventory management and cycle counting.
  • Support and execute company marketing and merchandising initiatives. Ensure the branch presentation meets TAL's standards, including signage, pricing accuracy, inventory selection, and promotional displays, to provide customers with an exceptional shopping experience.
  • Collaborate with accounting, credit, data processing, and human resources to implement policies and procedures.
  • Direct a comprehensive loss prevention strategy, encompassing security, safety, and maintenance of equipment and property.
  • Prepare and manage budgets and forecasts.
  • Keep management updated on operational status and anticipated trends.
  • Adhere to all TAL policies and regulations.
  • Build and maintain essential business relationships with customers, team members, industry organizations, and the local community.
  • Engage in communication with other branch managers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • 4-10 years of relevant experience.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Primarily sedentary work, with occasional walking or standing.
  • May require exerting up to 80 pounds of force infrequently and/or up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
Compensation

Starting salaries will be determined based on experience and educational background.
