Mechanical Quality Assurance Inspector

Wilcox Industries is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Incoming Quality Control Mechanical Inspector to enhance our commitment to quality and support our mission in homeland defense and armed services. This full-time position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule during the day shift and reports directly to the Director of Quality Assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and uphold the Quality Management Systems.
- Conduct thorough quality control inspections, assessments, and evaluations of incoming products from external suppliers and vendors.
- Examine materials, components, and products upon arrival from suppliers or external services.
- Interpret blueprints and adhere to provided instructions.
- Possess a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Utilize measuring instruments effectively, including Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Micro-Hite, Optical Comparators, and Hardness Testers.
- Employ statistical process control methodologies.
- Manage nonconforming products appropriately.
- Ensure the collection and preservation of Quality Records.
- Engage with internal stakeholders regarding the Quality System and ISO 9001:2015 certification matters.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in a fast-paced Quality role is preferred, with manufacturing experience being advantageous.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical specifications and engineering drawings.
- Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Familiarity with measuring instruments.
- Experience with PC-DMIS (CMM) is a plus.
- Skilled in data collection and analysis.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems.
- Regular on-site attendance is essential for this role.
- This position requires access to export-controlled technology; candidates must be legally authorized to access U.S. government-controlled technology prior to commencing work.
Compensation
Compensation will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
