About the Role

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Primary Care team in the Family Medicine Department. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing top-quality professional nursing care to patients, utilizing your knowledge of nursing theory and disease processes to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Provide accurate medication administration, nursing documentation, and implement pain management assessment and documentation.
  • Disease Process and Therapeutics: Recognize changes in patients' status and report pertinent information to Charge Nurse or Physicians.
  • Nursing Intervention: Demonstrate knowledge of various age-related concerns and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Health Teaching: Utilize opportunity for health teaching of patient, family, and others.
  • Documentation: Maintain complete and up-to-date documentation and files at all times.
  • Teamwork: Participate in the departmental orientation of new employees in a positive manner, share knowledge, experiences, and provide guidance when assigned.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of Accredited LPN program.
  • Certifications: Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license, Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred if working in Cardiology.
  • Complexity of Work: Adaptability, Efficiency and Effectiveness, Essential Job Requirements, Supervisory Responsibilities, and Knowledge of Infection Control Practices.
  • Work Experience: One year of clinical experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Essential Duties: Assess, plan, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate patient's progress through the entire continuum of care in conjunction with the R.N. or physician.
  • Physical Duties: Frequent walking, sitting, and standing, frequent talking and listening, frequent use of the phone, fax machines, and occasional use of the computer.
  • Working Conditions: Majority of the time spent indoors in air-conditioned areas, potential for exposure to blood and blood-borne pathogens, and clinical exposure to patients requires the use of personal protective equipment.
