Job Summary:

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a key member of our Imaging Services team, you will be responsible for performing radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures, ensuring optimal diagnostic quality of patient care.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills, explaining procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures, adjusting immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified areas of the body.
  • Determine exposure factors based on patient height, weight, and the portion of the body involved, ensuring accurate and detailed images.
  • Operate mobile radiologic equipment in operating rooms, emergency rooms, or at patients' bedsides, adapting to diverse environments.
  • Assist radiologists and other qualified physicians in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations, ensuring seamless collaboration.
  • Prepare images for reading by radiologists or requesting physicians, processing and reviewing images for proper identification and quality control.
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Orient new hires and train students, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and growth.
  • Fulfill supervisory responsibilities, ensuring seamless coverage in the absence of the Supervising Radiology Technologist.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years of experience in two specialties (CT and/or Mammography) or one year of experience in each specialty with an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification in each specialty.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California) and Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California) required.
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Mammography Certificate (California) and Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California) required.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
Additional Requirements:
  • ACLS certification when required for the position.
  • Ability to perform all general diagnostic and routine fluoroscopic duties on patients of all ages as determined by the employer.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information to individuals and groups with varying knowledge of Radiology services.
  • Willingness to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment.
