Job Summary

The Bosch Research and Technology Center in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a highly motivated engineer to support Bosch research and development, including the design, development, and maintenance of electrochemical test equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform regular monitoring, maintenance, and calibration of test equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with equipment manufacturers to troubleshoot and improve equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Design and construct devices for novel testing, leveraging expertise in electrochemistry and materials science.
  • Set-up and carry out tests, including scripting within the equipment environment, to gather data and inform research and development initiatives.
  • Work closely with experimentalists and modelers in a cutting-edge research and development environment to advance Bosch's technology and innovation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Chemistry, with a strong foundation in electrochemistry and materials science.
  • 1+ years of experience working with electrical test equipment, including equipment calibration and troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of electrochemistry, especially fuel cells and/or electrolyzers, and general understanding of thermodynamics and transport phenomena.
  • Prior experience with text-based programming, such as MATLAB, Python, Visual Basic, and/or proprietary software.
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controller (PLC) concepts and low voltage electrical systems.
  • Experience fabricating and installing process piping.
  • Autonomy, attention to detail, flexibility, creativity, excellent communication, and teamwork skills.
