Job Overview

Sierra Proto Express is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance on our facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of assigned equipment to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance work on equipment and machinery to prevent breakdowns and costly repairs.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Use proper tools and techniques to perform tasks safely and effectively.
  • Research and order spare parts as needed to minimize downtime.
  • Report any potential problems to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Perform daily housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Interact professionally with colleagues, managers, and vendors.
  • Be available for emergency maintenance and may be required to operate a forklift.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for an AA degree in a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in general building maintenance, electricity, carpentry, and plumbing.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams.
  • Previous hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical tools and test instruments.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to generate reports.
  • Professional demeanor, good customer service skills, and a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand/walk throughout the day.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Working Conditions:

Graveyard hours, 3rd shift, with a flexible schedule.

California salary range: $25-$30 per hour, with benefits.
