Architectural Design Specialist

The Architectural Design Specialist is a creative and detail-oriented professional who works on multiple projects simultaneously, collaborating with project teams to deliver high-quality results. This individual is responsible for producing comprehensive design and construction documents that effectively communicate building designs to the project team.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyzes building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical data to determine their effects on architectural design.
- Collaborates with the production team to resolve design issues.
- Meets with clients to review vision and design intent.
- Collaborates with the project team to prepare vision books, drawings, renderings, and design presentations.
- Coordinates architecture with design professionals such as Landscape Architects, Civil Engineers, Structural Engineers, MEP Engineers, and Interior Designers.
- Produces design documents for buildings that are functional, aesthetic, and durable.
- Collaborates with the project team to create and assemble the set of construction documents.
- Attends periodic site visits with the project Construction Administrator.
- Performs quality assurance checks on drawings with the Project Coordinator and Project Manager.
- Is trained in company production standards and processes.
- Works towards completing Internship hours in accordance with NCARB's Architectural Experience Program.

A sense of urgency is necessary to adhere to project schedules. Communication and creativity are strong aspects of this position, and inform the project's collaboration process and final project design. The individual filling this role is essential to the project team and production of the project documents; therefore, a strong ability to communicate and work well with others is vital to achieve success. An open approach to learning and implementing design standards and building code requirements is a strong aspect of this position.
