Job Overview

Larson Design Group, a leading Architecture, Engineering, and Consulting Firm, is seeking a highly skilled Bridge Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for coordinating overall design activities, project submission schedules, and ensuring the final products meet the technical requirements and goals of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review design computations, plan designs, and drawings.
  • Review submittals and coordinate project submissions.
  • Prepare and review specifications, draft letters, and written technical reports.
  • Complete inspections and field work assignments as needed.
  • Research and understand written regulations, code compliance, and permit requirements and apply them to design projects.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of work and project records.
  • Possess knowledge of Codes and Standards applicable to project designs.
  • Develop technically accurate, clean, and deliverable drawings.
  • Promote and support quality assurance and quality control processes to improve the quality of deliverables and reduce design errors and omissions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant Engineering field from an ABET-accredited school, or a related field of study.
  • Minimum of 5 years of job-related experience. FDOT, PennDOT, or Pennsylvania Turnpike bridge design experience is preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) required.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of the design and development process of transportation bridge projects and knowledge of AASHTO and FDOT and/or PennDOT Design Manuals, Standards, Specifications, Engineering Software, and Microstation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microstation, Open Roads, InRoads (Surfaces and Templates), and other related software programs.
  • Strong desire to expand knowledge base and undertake new responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a project team.
