About the Role

The Regional Program Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation and success of Umoja Community programs across the region. This is a hybrid position that involves both remote and on-site work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with community colleges and other educational institutions in Northern and Southern California
  • Identify opportunities for partnership and collaboration with colleges and other organizations
  • Provide support and guidance to Umoja Community programs in the region
  • Organize and facilitate trainings, workshops, and conferences for Umoja Community educators and staff
  • Develop and deliver presentations and educational materials
  • Collect and analyze data to assess program impact and inform program development and expansion
  • Stay informed about current educational trends and best practices
  • Contribute to the overall success and growth of Umoja Community programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, social sciences, or related field
  • Experience working in a community college or educational setting
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience organizing and facilitating trainings or workshops
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and data analysis tools
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Northern and Southern California

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in education, social sciences, or related field
  • Prior experience working with Umoja Community programs or similar initiatives
  • Experience with program evaluation and data analysis
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Working Conditions

This is a hybrid position with a combination of remote and on-site work. The Regional Program Coordinator will be expected to travel (50%-60%) to various college campuses and educational events within Northern and Southern California.
