Job Description

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Tewksbury, MA. As a key member of our checkpoint screening products team, you will be responsible for technical planning, system design, development, and integration, as well as verification and validation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition.
  • Work with product teams to define product requirements and build systems to fulfill customer needs.
  • Develop organized engineering roadmaps for product-related tasks and activities.
  • Coordinate with other engineering leads to ensure alignment, coordination, and integration throughout the product development cycle.
  • Provide solutions based on system requirements and work with teams to develop solutions to technical issues and updates.
Requirements:
  • BS degree in a related discipline (such as electrical engineering, physics, or systems engineering) with years of prior relevant experience or Masters with years of prior relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of practical experience as a HW Systems Design Engineer building sensor systems.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (US citizenship required).
  • Experience working and collaborating on multi-disciplinary teams, including leading technical teams and mentoring less experienced scientists.
  • Led or played a key role in designing, building, and testing hardware sensing products from concept to market delivery.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • X-ray CT experience.
  • Chemical trace detection experience.
  • Automated detection experience.
  • Basic Linux skills.
